SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM is a dermal filler gel implant that's injected into the face in microdroplets to improve skin smoothness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines. It's the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) microdroplet injectable in the US for this purpose. SKINVIVE works by increasing hydration and improving skin health, rather than adding volume like other fillers.
Skinvive Procedure
SKINVIVE is injected between the layers of skin (intradermally) in specific areas of the face. It also contains 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE) and 0.3% lidocaine to reduce pain during injection.
Once treatment is completed, patients can return, with virtually no downtime, to their regular activities. For the first 24 hours after treatment, to reduce the risk of complications, patients should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and alcohol consumption.
Results of Skinvive
The hyaluronic acid in SKINVIVE attracts and holds onto moisture, which can make skin look smoother, softer, and more radiant. In clinical studies, patients reported their skin looked more glowing, hydrated, refreshed and healthy after treatment, and these effects can last up to six months.
Risks of Skinvive
Although Skinvive is considered safe, there is a risk of side effects. They are usually temporary and limited to the injection site and may include the following:
